Philip Mertes

Philip Mertes is CEO/COO of the award-winning biopharmaceutical digital health company EVOCAL Health. As an internationally recognized aspiring thought leader in innovation management, he contributes a valuable and rare combination of expertise in company operations and innovation strategy in highly regulated technology environments.

 

Previously, Philip Mertes has worked as a venture development manager for multinational corporations, technology transfer units, and private equity investors around the world to scout, build and invest in new ventures. As a Silicon Valley trained digital product manager specialized in highly regulated environments and studied lawyer, he combines experience in regulatory aspects for data-driven technologies with a deep technological understanding.

 

Philip Mertes holds a Diploma in Intellectual Property and Company Law from the Georg-August-University Goettingen, and a State Examination in Law from the Federal Republic of Germany (both with honors). He has been appointed to serve in a variety of advisory boards in technology and science start-ups and spin-offs in the EMEA markets, and serves in the Advisory Board at the Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Digitalization (Lower Saxony) due to his long-standing engagement for the German innovation ecosystem.
